"I like you just the way you are."— Fred Rogers
Sarah's work is animated by a quiet conviction: therapists do their most enduring growth not through more techniques, but through deeper contact — with themselves, with their clients, and with the colleagues who walk beside them.
She didn't set out to become a consultant. It happened gradually, in the small moments after groups when newer clinicians lingered to ask the questions that mattered — about their cases, yes, but also about themselves. She found she loved those conversations. They felt like the heart of the work.
Animare Play grew from that affection. The name borrows from the Latin animare — to give breath, to bring to life. It's how she thinks about consultation: a place where therapists can put words to what's stirring, name what feels stuck, and find their own clinical aliveness again.
A relational, integrative way of working
Her consultation style is grounded in Relational Gestalt principles — attention to presence, contact, awareness, and the alive space between us. But she holds that orientation with open hands. Therapists trained in CCPT, Theraplay, Synergetic Play Therapy, EMDR, IFS, attachment-based work, and many other modalities all find a thinking partner here.
What Sarah cares about is not whether you practice like she does, but whether your practice feels true. She'll ask questions that help you locate yourself in the work — and then trust you to take it from there.
Consultation, not supervision toward licensure
Animare Play offers consultation — a thoughtful, ongoing thinking partnership. Sarah does not provide supervision toward licensure. If you are collecting RPT™-related hours, we can talk about how consultation may or may not fit your particular path.
